Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about ordering custom, made-to-order fashion.

Sizing & Fit

Refer to the size chart measurements on the product page for the item you're purchasing. If you're ordering a Game Changer, we recommend starting with your cup size and then shopping by body size for the best fit.

Our patented Game Changer built-in bra technology features a hook-free design with 4-way stretch moisture-wicking tech fabric that molds to your body. There's insulated underwire for added support without the poke or discomfort — though it may not sit flush against your ribcage. The DDD+ option supports anyone in the DDD through H/I cup range.

Most of our pieces have stretch, so you should be able to order your usual size. If you prefer a looser fit, size up. The most accurate method: pick the size on the chart closest to your waist measurement, then cross-reference with your largest other measurement (hip or bust).

We run true to size. Some fabrics have extra stretch, which can give a slightly relaxed fit.

Public Label doesn't do fully bespoke clothing, but if you want to double-check that you're ordering the right size, feel free to email us at contact@reneecafaroatelier.com or DM us to confirm the best fit.

Customization & Product

Absolutely. The sky is the limit — mix fabrics, swap strap colors, and build the look that's perfect for you.

Slinky — A thick, 4-way stretch material with a bouncy drape that moves with you. It gets its name from that signature fluid motion.

Velvet — Our regal stretch velvet delivers the look of luxurious silk velvet with the comfort of jersey and a plush, rich handfeel.

Lace — Silky to the touch with raised embroidered detailing, and it stretches four ways for a smooth, comfortable fit.

Sequin (Game Changer) — A thin, breathable velvety base covered in micro sequins for maximum sparkle without the scratching that larger sequins leave behind. Wearable year-round.

Sequin (Pantsuit) — A modern, dense microsequin backed by thick Lycra — all the look of exquisite non-stretch embellished fabrics, with all-day comfort.

Yes. They have small straps that wrap around the bra strap and snap into place — easy to put on and take off whenever you want a different look.

Your card is charged at the time of purchase. This confirms your order and starts the made-to-order process immediately.

Shipping & Lead Time

Good things come to those who wait! It takes 6–8 weeks to source materials and handcraft each piece — meaning you get a top-quality item with the lowest environmental impact.

Once you place your order, we gather materials and begin production with some of the finest sewing teams in New York City. We're a sustainable, ethical, fair-wage company — everything is made as you request it to minimize waste. Quality and customization take time, and the result is worth it.

Yes, we ship internationally.

If you have a date you need your garment by, email us at contact@reneecafaroatelier.com with the subject line ORDER DEADLINE and we'll make sure it arrives in time — as long as it falls within the standard 6–8 week window.

Need it in 2–4 weeks? That can be arranged for an additional $250.

Returns & Exchanges

Since every piece is custom-made, items are non-returnable. However, we stand behind our work with the Make It Right Guarantee — if something is faulty, unwearable, or incorrect, let us know within 7 days of receiving your order and we'll do everything we can to make it right.

Most people just need a small tweak for the perfect fit — a hem or a nip in the waist. We invite you to get alterations done at a tailor of your choosing and send us the bill. We cover alterations up to $200 so you're not stuck waiting to ship things back and forth to NYC.

If you're in New York, you can book a free alterations appointment at our studio in the Garment District.

Email us a detailed account of what doesn't fit properly within 7 days of delivery and we'll do everything we can to make it right under our Make It Right Guarantee.

Because every piece is made-to-order, exchanges aren't possible. We may be able to assist with alterations to ensure a better fit under our Make It Right Guarantee.

Care & Quality

Most of our garments are dry clean only to ensure longevity. That said, they're built to last and meant to be worn — don't be shy about wearing your pieces for every occasion.

Garments made of Slinky fabric are the exception: machine wash cold and low tumble dry or hang dry.

Everything is made using fair-wage labor in New York City. We're a slow fashion small business — every piece is crafted with care, not mass-produced.
